PONTE DEI MILLE MARITIME STATION

A FASCINATING LOCATION FOR EVENTS

The Genoa Harbour, given its natural location and history, has had and still retains a primary role
in the handling of passenger traffic.
Stazioni Marittime S.p.A. has established itself as a state-of-the-art terminal operator in the Mediterranean, having equipped itself, before other seaports, with the necessary infrastructures and solutions needed to meet the changing demands of the cruise operators for increasing comfort and security.
As with the cruise ship market, Stazioni Marittime S.p.A. was able to identify ahead of other operators
the changes taking place in the transport of ferry passengers.

The need to reduce travel time with the ferry lines, the growth in tourist movement and the consequent continuing increase in the size and quality of the line ships, which have to follow the changing requests of the market, has led and is still leading to notable changes and improvements in the areas and infrastructures devoted to ferry traffic.
Since the early nineties, Stazioni Marittime S.p.A., along with the Genoa Port Authority, has radically redesigned the shape of the docks and the internal road network.
Consistent investments has made it possible to enlarge the boarding areas, to render more functional the internal road system and to equip the passenger area with three comfortable and modern terminals.
These are principally dedicated to ferry traffic, completely computerising all embarkation check-in procedures and have, at the same time, brought up-to-date the increasingly broad and complex safety regulations.

The significant investments made in the quality and modernisation of infrastructures and services,
coupled with the dynamism which has always characterized the management of our company, and combined with the progressive growth of our markets, have enabled the Genoa Passenger Harbour
to register traffic figures that are among the highest in the Mediterranean.
