Taxis, although performing a public service, may only enter the operational areas in the following cases:
with crew members on board with suitable documents issued by the ship and/or Shipping Agency
without persons on board for service to passengers disembarking from ferries on call, or for parking in reserved spaces
with persons on board authorised by Stazioni Marittime Spa with particular regard to Passengers with Reduced Mobility (PMR, Italian abbreviation). Passengers in possession of a ticket and proof of documentation must have previously requested authorisation from Stazioni Marittime. Access will be guaranteed from the check-in tunnel gates, where security checks and the check-in of the ticket will be carried out.
For security reasons, passengers will be allowed to enter two hours before the ship's departure time in order to guarantee direct boarding, without parking in the operational areas.
Taxis cannot enter with passengers destined for boarding the ferries on board. Passengers boarding the ferry will be accompanied to the ticket office of the ferry terminal.
Taxis are not allowed to enter the operational areas designated for cruise traffic. There are parking areas near the terminals for the disembarkation of cruise passengers.
The areas granted in concession to Stazioni Marittime s.p.a. are controlled by a video surveillance system with CCTV cameras, which is always active. The system was created and operates in compliance with the rules on privacy and the protection of people's freedom (Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003).
In addition to the provisions of current criminal law on weapons, it is forbidden to bring into the security area any type of knife or sharp blade, bows, crossbows, sport fishing rifles, hatchets, scissors, awls, martial arts equipment, as well as any other instrument that can be used as an improper weapon.
The transport of fishing guns and sporting equipment in general is allowed inside dedicated bags/cases, stowed in the cargo compartment of vehicles boarding ferries.
